Anna Playfair-Hannay – Trustee
Anna Playfair-Hannay is the youngest Trustees. Aged 24, she is a member of the Society’s Next Generation. With a background in farming in the Scottish Borders she now works for a major food retailer, and is already making her mark on food production.
Anna has completed the Marks & Spencer graduate training programme. She now works for them as an Agricultural Technologist, and is enthusiastic about her experience of the RASC. A member of the Border Union Agricultural Society, she attended the RASC conference, in Edinburgh in 2010, and the conference in Zambia last year. She has made many lifelong friends and contacts from all over the Commonwealth as a result.
Anna was born and brought up on a Pedigree Aberdeen Angus, Beef Shorthorn, sheep and arable farm in the Scottish Borders. She went on to study Agriculture Business Management at Newcastle University. She believes she has gained a lot from experience at home and at University and that the RASC can help move sustainable agriculture forward. She wants to use her experiences in the RASC to meet others, and help and motivate them to have a career in the agri-food sector across the globe.
