Will Pritchard – Trustee
Will Pritchard is a key figure in Welsh Agricultural Politics and is never far away from the key issues that affect farming in the UK. He is 39, and a partner in the family dairying business with parents Alan and Mary.
His engagement with agriculture goes much beyond the 1200 milkers carried on his family’s 500 hectare farm. Involved in Welsh Agricultural politics, Will chairs the Wales YFC Rural Affairs committee and Future Farmers of Wales Club. He is also the Vice-Chairman of CCF, Wales’ largest farmer owned supply co-operative. No stranger to the media, he also presents a weekly farming show on Radio Pembrokeshire.
He started his active role in the RASC in 2010 when he represented the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society at the RASC conference in Edinburgh. As a Next Generation Delegate he also took part in the Understanding and Assistance Mission to Singapore and India last year and attended this year’s RASC Zambian Conference. Will left school at 16 to milk the family’s 230 cows. After an HND at the Welsh Agricultural College and 12 months in New Zealand, he spent time in Canada before a Nuffield Scholarship took him to New Zealand, Australia, USA and Ireland.
He believes in using traditional and social media networks to disseminate information and Knowledge. Having gained a huge amount from travel and discussion throughout the Commonwealth, he believes that we must use everything possible to encourage these links. He is a key member of the Next Generation.
