Allan Murray – Trustee

Allan Murray is married with four children and four grandchildren. He has been in the farming industry all his life and lives on an arable farm near Kelso in the Scottish Borders. He represents the Borders Region in the National Farmers Union. He is the Borders Chairman and an NFU council member.

In the RASC he has been involved with the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland as a Director since 1992 and Chairman from 2006-08. He was re-elected Chairman in 2012-14. He set up the Scottish Countryside Alliance, and was its director for seven years. He has worked in the food industry as a primary producer and co-founded Scotland’s Food Fortnight, which is a celebration of food held in the month of October.

He is committed to sharing information on all aspects of Agriculture and Food production and promoting the Society at every opportunity.
