Peter Nation Recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

The Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth extends warm congratulations to Peter Nation, former Chief Executive of Fieldays, who has been appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours.

Peter has been a passionate advocate for the rural sector in New Zealand since the 1980s, with a career spanning agribusiness, rural advocacy, and event leadership. Most notably, Peter served as the CEO of Fieldays from 2016 to 2023, during which time the event not only expanded in size and scope but also strengthened its position as a world-class agricultural exhibition and hub for innovation and industry engagement.

Throughout his career, Peter has remained committed to championing the value of agriculture and rural communities, particularly in connecting farmers with education, policy, and market opportunities. His work has impacted thousands of people across New Zealand and the Commonwealth, and his recognition is well-deserved.

Peter has long supported the aims of the RASC and has participated in many Commonwealth events over the years. We are proud to acknowledge his dedication and the inspiration he provides to our wider community.
