Brisbane Open House

Discover some of Brisbane’s greatest assets as professional guides take you on a stroll through the Queen’s Wharf precinct highlighting Brisbane’s interesting and often colourful past. As you weave through the oldest streets in Brisbane, guides will point out key buildings and provide historical snippets from our early convict days through to the vibrant city it is today.

If you’d like to experience a proper Australian BBQ, this is the event for you. The Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc. is inviting everyone to attend a BBQ at Rocklea Showgrounds on Saturday 18th October at 6pm.

The 2014 RASC partners program has now been confirmed, and there are some great sights to see in this beautiful city.
You will get the chance to visit the best of Brisbane throughout the day including the iconic New-Gothic St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane’s grand City Hall, The City Botanic Gardens and historical Parliament House, which was built in the 1860s using sandstone and copper from Mt. Isa in North Western Queensland.
There will be no shortage of photo opportunities when you explore Queensland’s capital city. One of the best views in Brisbane is from the Mt. Coot-tha Lookout, where you will stop during the day. You will see magnificent views of the city centre and its suburbs and on a clear day you can see as far as Moreton and North Stratbroke Islands. Next on the list will be Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens (aka Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens) which includes 35 hectares of Australian natives, a Japanese garden and a fernery.
The tour will then move onto Southbank, which is located on the southern banks of the Brisbane River. Southbank is one of Brisbane’s leading cultural destinations and includes top restaurants, shopping and stunning views. Guests will get the chance to visit Southbank’s famous ‘Streets beach’, the Southbank esplanade and many luscious gardens.
Finally you will visit Kangaroo Point – another stop that provides breathtaking views of Brisbane. Overlooking Brisbane’s CBD, Brisbane River and City Botanical Gardens Kangaroo Point is the perfect spot to view the sunset and get some great photos.
Koala Cruise and Lone Pine Park
Depart 10am at the pontoon located at Southbank on the riverwalk outside the Queensland Art Gallery
End approximately 3pm at same location

This popular Brisbane river cruise has been taking locals and visitors to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for over 70 years. It’s a “must do” experience while in Brisbane. The Koala and River Cruise is the perfect way to get up close and personal with Australia’s cuddliest creatures while enjoying the sights and sounds of Brisbane’s most attractive waterfront suburbs, only accessible by boat.
