170 Years of Innovation

This year marks an exciting milestone for the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) in Northern Ireland as it celebrates its 170th anniversary.

The Society’s story began in the wake of the Great Famine as 86 founding members vowed to hold an annual show, exhibiting examples of excellent stock and farm produce. It was hoped that in doing so, they could educate fellow farmers on efficient practices to regenerate the resilient industry. It was this main objective that led to Northern Ireland’s pinnacle agri-food event – The Balmoral Show.

The Show, now in its 155th year, will give members and thousands of visitors the chance to celebrate decades of innovation and support for the local agri-food industry. The Society would like to welcome all visitors back to the Eikon Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 15th- Saturday 18th May 2024 as they showcase the finest produce and stock from across the island.

As the Balmoral buzz stretches far and wide with details of a new children’s area, exciting new attractions and awarding-winning food, it’s an event now to be missed. Full details are available at www.balmoralshow.co.uk.
